FLORIDA – Seminole County deputy arrested on fraud allegations
A former Seminole County Sheriff’s Office deputy was arrested on fraud charges.
Michael Weippert, 48, turned himself in to the Volusia County Jail and has since bonded out.
Weippert has since retired from the Seminole County Sheriff’s office, but he’s accused of charging the Wekiva and Sweetwater Oaks Homeowners Associations for off duty patrol services when it’s alleged he wasn’t in the area at all.
Investigators said other deputies had to answer calls for services about 30 times.
About 20 times Weippert’s cellphone indicated he was not in the neighborhoods he was supposed to be in.
